Young Humanitarian Summit 2026
The fourth Young Humanitarian Summit (YHS), held from March 27 to 29, 2026, for the first time in Geneva and online, explored the topic of The Future of Humanitarianism.
As the humanitarian sector is facing significant disruption, long-standing donor commitments are weakening, crises are becoming more complex, and the implementation of International Humanitarian Law (IHL) is under growing strain, the Summit created a space for young people to reflect on how humanitarian action can remain relevant, principled, and impactful in the years to come. It moved beyond simply reaffirming principles to examine how humanitarian norms are applied in practice and explored the interaction between humanitarian, political, economic, corporate and technological actors, as well as the growing importance of community-based, refugee-led, and youth-driven responses.
